Q: How do I book a tour?

Q: If I don’t have a credit card how can I book?
You can pay via direct bank deposit, click here.
Q: What is the local pickup area?
Cessnock, Nulkaba, Pokolbin and Lovedale. (Most of the major accommodations are within this region). If outside this area please call for a quote before booking.
Q: Do you pick up outside of Pokolbin?
Yes, for groups of 4 or more we also pick up from Morisset, Newcastle, Singleton, Broke, Wollombi, Maitland and surrounding areas. Pickup from outside the local Pokolbin and Cessnock area will incur an additional pickup fee, please call for a quote.
We do NOT pick up from Sydney. We will however, pick up from Maitland or Morisset Train Stations around 9am.
Q: What is included in the tour cost?
Our tours include:-
- Tastings at 4-5 boutique cellar doors; vodka distillery and cheese and chocolate samples.
- Pickup and drop-off from your accommodation
- Guided tour by local, fully-accredited operator
Q: Is lunch included in the tour cost?
No. Lunch is at your own expense. Special lunch menus are available to pre-order on the day.
Q: Do you cater for people with food allergies?
We are happy to make arrangements to ensure your requirements are met. Please enter details in Special Requirements on the online booking page.
Q: Are there any additional costs?
Apart from your lunch and craft beer tasting (which is optional) there are no additional costs. You will have the opportunity to purchase wine, beer, cheese and chocolate after your tastings but again this is optional.
Private tours may incur additional tasting fees at your selected cellar doors; usually redeemable on wine purchased.
Q: What time do the tours start?
Most Full Day tours start at 10:00am with a local area pick up time between 9.00am and 9:45am. Half Day Afternoon Tour pickups start around 12.00noon from local Pokolbin area only. Half Day public tours not available on Saturdays.
Q: How long does the tour go for?
Our tour usually lasts around 7-8 hours with local pickups beginning around 9am and we usually have you back to your accommodation between 4-5pm (or later if outside local area)
Q: How many passengers can you accommodate?
We specialise in smaller tours. We have a 13 passenger and 20 passenger accredited tourist vehicle plus a 4 passenger NSW hire car.
Q: What wineries do you visit?
We have a large range of wineries to choose from in the Hunter and the wineries we visit change on a daily basis. We visit boutique wineries offering quality wines and outstanding hospitality in picturesque settings. We strive to make every tour special and tailor each day’s visit as best we can to our customers’ tastes. We are happy to accommodate winery requests if possible; however you might be surprised by some fabulous wineries you didn’t know existed!
Q: Can I request particular cellar doors?
We try to create the best experience possible for our guests by visiting our favourite boutique cellar doors. However if you wish to visit particular cellar doors we will try to accommodate your special requests. This may incur additional tasting fees usually redeemable on wine purchased, depending on your chosen cellar doors.
Q: What is the minimum number of people for a tour?
Two people – local pickup. We will never cancel a tour for lack of numbers.
Q: Are children welcome on the tour?
The public tours are not appropriate for children.
If you wish to bring children we recommend you book a private tour. Depending on their age, you will be required to bring their approved safety seat. Call to confirm details before booking.
Q: Do you do tours other than wine tours?
Our specialty is boutique wine tours which include visits to the Hunter Distillery for Vodka, Gin, Liqueur and Schnapps tastings; also Cheese and Chocolate tastings. However, we can customise brewery tours and activities for private tour groups.
Q: How do I book a Private Group Tour?
We’d love to design a custom tour for your group of up to 4 (Hire Car) 13 or 20 people (TV Bus). Click here for secure online bookings and information. Larger group quotes can be arranged. Please phone to discuss.
For private group tours we provide your group a total price rather than a per person price. Therefore, if numbers are reduced the quoted price will still apply.
Q: What do I do if I need to cancel the tour I have booked or change tour dates?

Q: What days do the tours run?
Full Day tours run 7 days per week and half day tours run every day except Saturday. We are only closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
We understand things change and try to be as flexible as we can be. However, our policy is as follows;
If cancelled within 28 days and 8 days of tour 50% refunded.
If cancelled within 7 days of the tour 0% refunded.
Last minute reduction in group numbers or no shows on the day will incur the same cancellation fees
Q: Can we eat or drink on the bus?
You may consume bottled water however we cannot allow guests to eat or drink on the bus as this is a legal requirement for private bus operators in NSW. There will be plenty of time for refreshments during the tour. Private groups may bring a picnic lunch. Please advise at time of booking.
Q: Do I have to buy wine?
Although it isn’t an absolute must, it is customary to make some sort of purchase from the wineries, as a show of gratitude for their time. We are spoiled for choice in the Hunter region, hopefully you will be able to find something that pleases you.
Q: Do I have to pay tasting fees?
Tasting fees are included in the tour cost for public tours.
Private tour groups may incur additional tasting fees usually redeemable on wine purchased, depending on your chosen cellar doors.
Q: I’d like to buy a lot of wine but I can’t carry it home with me?
Most of the wineries in the region are happy to assist you with shipping your purchases across Australia. (Rates vary from around $15 per case)
Q: If I miss the bus can I get a refund or swap tour dates (even if it wasn’t my fault)?
Unfortunately we can’t offer refunds if you miss the bus. Please aim to be at the pickup point at least 10 minutes before the departure time. Holding the bus past the departure time is not possible as it will delay our departure and effect the enjoyment of other guests.

Pick up from Morisset Railway Station
Minimum 2 person pickup is required to operate the pickup service to fee based locations.
Flat rate = Single price for pick-up/drop-off at that location whether it’s two people or a full group of people.
Transfer fees are in addition to your tour booking and will be collected by your guide at time of pick-up. Please pay these fees by cash, ATM’s will be available on the tour.
